  • Northern Arizona University is pleased to announce a paid ($25,000) fourth-year audiology externship for 2024-2025. Our university speech, language, and hearing clinic provides audiological diagnostic and treatment services to patrons of northern Arizona.

    We seek a motivated and caring extern who targets a career in private practice or medical audiology. An extern’s experience at our facility will include clinical diagnostic audiology for adults, OAEs, hearing aid evaluation, fitting, follow-up, troubleshooting, orientation, aural rehabilitation, and tinnitus education. Externs will also gain valuable experience through involvement in acoustic rehabilitation groups, tinnitus support groups, musician hearing conservation programs, and industrial hearing screening programs. This position would also include being a teaching assistant to two undergraduate courses over the year. The expected start date is May/June 2024 – April/May 2025. An extern should exhibit a willingness to learn, a passion for helping others, and a desire to gain independence in audiological case management.
