ACEN: Audiology Clinical Education Network
A collaborative effort to standardize elements of the Audiology externship process has resulted in the launch of the Audiology Clinical Education Network (ACEN).
While initially focused on standardization, the Network also endeavors to share best practices across institutions in an effort to further improve student outcomes.
Initially, the most pressing issue identified was the timeline associated with the student application, interview, and offer and acceptance process of the externship. To this end, the network identified a common timeline to serve as a starting point for standardization of the externship.
The purpose of a common timeline is to increase efficiency for students, academic programs and the externship institutions.
ACEN's Goal
The goal of our network is to create standardization within and across the externship process that result in positive changes for all stakeholders.
