Thomas Jefferson University Hospital is accepting applications for 4 Audiology Externs in Philadelphia , PA.

The Jefferson Balance and Hearing Center at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital is a comprehensive adult audiology practice located in the heart of Philadelphia.  Our goal is to provide excellent patient centered care through an interdisciplinary team approach including audiologists, audiology technicians, nurses, and physicians. We are excited to offer 4 externship opportunities that will allow each doctoral extern to rotate between 6 different Jefferson Otolaryngology clinical sites for the academic year, 2024/2025. At Jefferson, we proudly call our Audiology Team the “SqAuD.”

Seeking SqAuD Jeffterns (externs) 2024-2025

  • (Hospital/Academic/Satellite Clinics) : 4 Full Time Positions; Jefferson Balance & Hearing Center – Center City, Navy Yard, Holy Redeemer, Yardley, Torresdale PA. Cherry Hill, NJ
    • Fast paced environment
    • Regular exposure to cochlear implants
    • Regular exposure to vestibular evaluations
    • Regular exposure to electrophysiology
    • Including rotary chair and vHIT
    • Regular exposure to tinnitus evaluations and counseling
    • Regular exposure to amplification to include osseo-integrated devices. All manufacturers
    • Regular exposure to complex audiometry
    • Regular interactions with 3 neuro-otologists, other sub specialized physicians & staff
    • Approximately 99% adults
    • Ideal for team oriented and motivated individuals with interest in an academic environment
    • Opportunities for participation in research, local outreach events, international medical missions, manufacturer trainings, cochlear implant and middle ear surgery observations, patient resource and protocol development, etc.
    • 12 month fourth year Au.D. Externship beginning in ~May 2024 & ending ~May 2025, pending program requirements. Externs are provided with supervision by experienced audiologists with ASHA CCC-A and/or ABA Board Certification in Audiology, in addition to Pennsylvania and /or New Jersey license in audiology. Supervision from an audiologist with the ASHA CCC-A is guaranteed.
    • This is designated as Full Time.  stipend is provided, it is reported to be $35,000 annually.
