  • The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center/Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery is offering a fourth-year externship for Au.D. students. We are currently a team of four Audiologists and soon to be six as we have filled the pediatric position and will soon be making an offer for the adult position. In addition to providing comprehensive pediatric, adult and geriatric care, we provide specialized care including cochlear and bone integrated implants, ototoxic monitoring and vestibular assessment. We work closely with Neurotology, Ear, Nose & Throat physicians, Oncology and Radiology Oncology, and hospitalists to evaluate, manage and treat hearing and balance disorders.

Our placement offers the motivated Au.D. extern the opportunity to become proficient in diagnostic hearing evaluations, evoked potential, VNG, Rotary Chair, Computerized Dynamic Posturography (CDP), implantable devices, hearing aid evaluations and fittings. Additionally, the skills and professionalism learned while participating in and communicating with multispecialty teams will be invaluable to a future career in Audiology. This position comes with a stipend to help cover expenses.
